General Meeting for Socialist Alternative Curtin The Socialist Alternative Curtin committee is calling a General Meeting of the club.  Date: Wednesday August 13th.   Time: 12.30pm  Location: 402.318     The purpose of this meeting is to elect a new Treasurer and Secretary as the members currently in these roles are unable to fulfill these roles adequately for the remainder of the year.     Every ordinary member of the club is invited to attend this General Meeting and nominate for the positions open for election below via emailing the club email.    Agenda will be as follows, if you would like to add an additional item please email the committee:  Acknowledgment of country  Attendance Disclosure of any potential or perceived conflicts of interest. Open meeting  Elections of new Treasurer and Secretary  The current Treasurer and Secretary are no longer able to fulfill their roles adequately for the club, and thus the committee has called an election to appoint a Treasurer and Secretary.  Any ordinary member of the club can nominate or be nominated for these positions and is invited to.  Voting will be conducted by the elected returning officer (an impartial member or Guild representative) via show of hands at the meeting. Public meeting: Gaza is Starving - how could the World let this happen?  There is a humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza right now has Israel refuses to allow aid into Gaza.  Instead, where some food is being distributed, Palestinians are met with bombs and bullets.  Children are starving to death, nothing but bone is left of them.  This is the reality of capitalism - war, genocide, and oppression.  Come along to this socialist meeting to discuss why the West continues to support and give weapons to Israel and how we could see an end to this horrific situation.  All welcome! On Wednesday in Week 1, the Curtin Socialist Club will be holding a meeting to discuss why billionaires have no place in a world that puts people before profit.
