Club Objectives

The objects of the Society are:

(a) To become and remain registered with the Guild.

(b) To further the interests of enrolled students.

(c) To assist new students with orientation to the University.

(d) To encourage and promote cooperation between the Society and other Student societies.

(e) To do all things that are necessary and proper for the benefit and advancement of the Society and the Guild.

(f) Socialist Alternative is a left-wing, anti-capitalist group with revolutionary socialist politics. Our club supports left-wing campaigns against oppression and exploitation. We are active in campaigns for refugee rights, Aboriginal rights, LGBTI rights, against Islamophobia, against sexism, for worker’s rights, Palestinian liberation, against cuts to healthcare, education and welfare and against war. For those interested in finding out more about socialist ideas, we run regular introduction to Marxism discussion groups and host meetings on and off campus.
